Mini Chandeliers Reviews- Miniature Beauty

Does size matter? And no, that wasn’t a rhetorical question. Yes? No? What about when you are in the midst of refurbishing your home? Still doubtful? Here’s a clue. Mini chandeliers.

Chandeliers classically bring to mind high ceilings, lavish spiral stairs and sweeping Victorian homes. Impressive no doubt, but not quite what is in vogue today. The minimalist approach is increasingly favoured. But say what you will, chandeliers are chandeliers. They are classics for a reason. So how does one get round this fix?

Mini chandeliers, that’s how. They subtly lend atmosphere and milieu to a room sans the garishness that may accompany a regular one. And as far as I’m concerned, their key attribute is versatility. Picture this. A yuppie couple with contemporary tastes. An unpretentious apartment with some abstract art prints. Maybe a copy of Picasso’s Three Musicians on the wall.

Now add a black mini chandelier to this picture. The avant- garde feel is retained, yet ambiance is enhanced. This is precisely what mini chandeliers do. More than just light, they give atmosphere, feel. Consider the way a crystal mini chandelier alters the mood of an otherwise ordinary living room. Or how a pink mini chandelier adds a touch of chic daintiness to a little girl’s bedroom. Their extreme versatility renders them amenable to just about any look.

The Victorian style is a classic favourite thanks to countless old Hollywood movies, but do resist the flock. There really is a myriad of choice out there. For a contemporary feel you can opt for a modern mini chandelier. A personal favourite is Elk Lighting’s Martini Glass Collection Mini Chandelier. Caught your attention, didn’t I? It literally is as the name suggests. Three martini glasses suspended from the ceiling are eye- catching, to say the least. The acid- etched glass and silver leaf finish add a dash of authenticity. On the other end of the spectrum are ornate designs. IKEA’s Kristaller Mini- Chandelier is intricate but not elaborate to the point of fussiness. The fine delicacy of glass offsets the detailed make perfectly.

Being miniature, mini chandeliers are ideal for lighting narrow spaces like corridors, foyers and stairways. And bathrooms? Why not? Unfairly perhaps, it is possibly the most undervalued room in a home. So long as you are looking into miniature chandeliers, pendant lighting could be another way to go. It adds a restrained touch of elegance to any bathroom. Murray Feiss’ Russell Collection Mini Pendant Light does this admirably, the dark beige glass effortlessly lending casual ambiance. Its warm, low glow is subtle and unobtrusive. The beauty of mini pendant lights is that they do not take over a room, merely enhance it.

However, all said and done, the most enticing part of a mini chandelier has to be the cost. Pricey though some mini chandeliers may seem, they cost far less than their regular- sized counterparts. You get to own a chandelier proper sans the bother of allocating sizeable spaces and it will not burn a hole in your pocket.

Best Three Mini Chandeliers

Add elegance to your home with crystal pendants and bronze finish

1. Minka- Lavery Mini Chandeliers 3122-301 Min i 3-LT 180w (18″H x 13″W) Chandelier in Castlewood Walnut

This three- light fixture from Minka- Lavery’s Mini Chandeliers Collection comes with crystal pendants and has a bronze finish. It requires three 60watt 120volt incandescent bulbs.

Pros:

  • Looks fantastic: Self explanatory. It truly is exquisite. The intricacy of the clear crystal pendants instantly grabs the eye.

  • Cost: A little steep. That said, I personally think it’s worth it.

Cons:

  • Bright bulbs: For a mini chandelier, its bulbs really are rather bright. If you are expecting a dim, low glow you may be a little disappointed.

  • No dimmer: It doesn’t come with a dimmer. You will have to purchase one separately. This may prove to be a bit of a grouse, especially as the light can be a tad glaring.

  • Flimsy metal frame: The frame is not very sturdy. Handling needs to be done with care.

Inject a contemporary look in your home

2. Verona Collection Snow White Mini Pendant Chandelier

This chandelier is chic. Period. Featuring white art glass with satin nickel accents, the stark geometry and clean lines make for a pleasing eyeful. It requires one 75watt incandescent bulb and forms part of Elk Lighting’s Verona Collection line.

Pros:

  • Contemporary look: The majority of mini chandeliers in the market lean toward ornate designs, crystal pendants and at least three bulbs. In short, elaborate. Not so this model. Like I said, chic. It’s modish. It’s current.

  • Easy to change bulbs: The pendant makes the bothersome task of changing bulbs that much less hassling.

  • Sturdy: It is pleasingly stable and well- built. No fear of sudden mishaps here.

  • Cost: Not earth- shattering. Relievingly affordable

Cons:

  • Dust easily visible: The white glass can be a double- edged sword. Chic though white glass may be, dirt and grime on it is annoyingly discernible.

3. Solaris Mini Chandelier in Olde Silver

A funky mini chandelier that suits any space

For the truly avant- garde shopper Crystorama Lighting Group’s Solaris Collection has a funky- yes, you read that right- funky mini chandelier. The steel rings of this chandelier boggle the mind rather, but in a somehow curiously pleasing way. And you’ll assuredly have a striking conversation piece on your hands. The wrought iron framing the clear glass ball is surprisingly firm and solid. This chandelier accommodates three 60watt candelabra base bulbs.

Pros:

  • Sturdy frame: The iron frame is sturdily made. A bit of a comfort considering it is all there is between the glass ball and you sitting nonchalantly below.

  • Easily cleaned: Unlike most classic chandeliers, it doesn’t come with a surplus of detail and crystal pendants. Housekeeping will not be a hassle.

Cons:

  • Cost: Startlingly dear. Being a huge fan of all things contemporary, I personally would fork out but some may reconsider spending so prohibitive a sum on a mini chandelier.

  • Versatility: Funky though it is, it may be a little too much so. It is a design for a very particular type of décor and this might be a problem if your home décor leans toward the conservative.

Before you buy:

A mini chandelier will unquestionably enhance your home. It will add ambiance and feel. Try not going run- of– the- mill. It shouldn’t be too challenging, the choices are manifold. Make a personal statement and pick one that reflects the character of your home.
