Dining Room Chandeliers Reviews

Have you ever got bored with the generic dining room lighting that has been hanging over your dining table for what seems like forever?

Perhaps you have a new house and in need of looking for that extra bit of style in your dining room?

Dining room chandeliers don’t come cheap and there are a variety of them.
Some being shoddy in quality, till the point you wouldn’t feel safe having 10 kilograms of glasses and steel above your head while you chow down on that romantic dinner.

But with quality comes price. Many consumers don’t want to shell out too much just on lighting alone for a dining room.
But still, we live in a day and age where our home decors do play quite a role in our life.

Budget being the target here, we selected 3 dining room chandeliers that won’t break the bank for you yet have a high class of finish to them.

Best Three Dining Room Chandeliers

1. Sea Gull Lighting 31051-962 Canterbury Five Light Chandelier, Brushed Nickel Finish with Satin Etched Glass

The Sea Gull Lighting Canterbury Five Light Chandelier is one of the most popular choices as a dining room chandelier out on the market today. With 5 individual bulbs at an allowance of 100 watts per bulb, you can be sure that the Canterbury is not a gloomy facade when you need some decent light above your table. It is, plenty bright.

Of course, depending on the type of bulbs you use, it will determine whether or not glaring will be an issue. However we found that with use of incandescent bulbs, the Canterbury continues to look absolutely clean with a touch of class with its brushed nickel finish. If you fancy regular bulbs, the Canterbury certainly wouldn’t look like it’s an industrial chandelier either.

Simple and modern design to suit modern homes

The Sea Gull Lighting Canterbury model 31051-962 does come in at 24 inches in diameter, making it a great fit for a medium-sized dining room. Built quality on the other hand leaves a little bit of a bad taste on our eyes. The globes holding the bulbs aren’t as straight as it should be, they are crooked and there’s no way it is adjustable. It’s a short bit of quality knock, but you do get what you pay for as the Canterbury Five Light Chandelier goes for less than $160 these days.

Pros:

  • Simple in looks, the Canterbury Five Light Chandelier will fit a variety of modern dining rooms.

  • As bright as it can be, there’s certainly no complains in an allowance of 5 light bulbs. Allowing your dinner table to be brightly lit and seeing how delicious your meals may be.

  • Classy brushed nickel finish with Satin Etched Glass.

  • Moderately priced, you do get what you pay for and the Canterbury certainly is a good bargain when it can be had for less than $160 these days.

Cons:

  • Somewhat shoddy quality in the globes holding the light bulbs.

2. Royce Lighting RC700/5-23 Prescott 5-Light Chandelier with White Alabaster Glass, Oil Rubbed Bronze

If you are in the hunt for something with a little bit more elegance than the Canterbury, the Royce Lighting Prescott is certainly worth a look. As with the Canterbury, the Prescott comes with a base of 5 individual bulbs. As with the style however, the Prescott fits best with incandescent bulbs to provide that elegant warm lighting over your dinner table. It’s an atmosphere builder for a nice quiet family dinner.

The Royce Lighting Prescott measures at 24 inches in diameter, making it suitable for medium-sized dining rooms. As for the finish, the Prescott is done in by Oil Rubbed Bronze with White Alabaster Glass.

Add a touch of class into dining rooms

As for the build quality itself, the Royce Lighting Prescott is no slouch either. The metal which holds the base of the bulbs are solid and it doesn’t misaligned into an out of shape manner. As for the price, the Royce Lighting Prescott is going cheap now for under a $100 these days making it a bargain for a nice solidly built yet elegant dining room chandelier.

Pros:

  • Elegant in its looks, the Prescott 5-Light Chandelier will add a touch of class into dining rooms which goes for the more sentimental atmosphere.

  • Even with 5 incandescent lights, glare is not an issue as you can have up to 5 of them ensuring your dining room is sufficiently bright.

  • A bargain for today’s standards, you can pick the Prescott 5-Light Chandelier for under a $100 these days.

Cons:

  • Doesn’t come with the required 5 incandescent light bulbs.

3. Hardware House 543728 Berkshire 21-Inch by 18-Inch Chandelier, Oil-Rubbed Bronze

From the Hardware House Berkshire collection series, model 543728 dining room chandelier is the smallest of the 3 dining room chandeliers we’re recommending today. The Berkshire dining room chandelier measures in at 21 inches, making it a fixture than their other counterparts, the Canterbury and the Prescott. Despite the smaller size however, the Berkshire still is a good fit for medium-sized dining rooms.

As with both the Sea Gull Lighting Canterbury and Royce Lighting Prescott, the Hardware House Berkshire comes with 5 individual bases for bulbs. The difference however is that the Berkshire comes with its base installed in an upright position.

Cheap but decent quality for your dining room

Build quality is considerably decent, as the Berkshire is as budget orientated as it can be without sacrificing too much in its quality. The Hardware House Berkshire can be had for less than $80 these days, making it the cheapest option out of the 3 chandeliers we’re recommending today.

However, one menacing problem we do realize from the Berkshire is the claim that its material spots oil rubbed bronze finish. This is far from the truth as the material itself are more akin to gray than the actual dark-chocolate color an oil rubbed bronze finish should be.

Pros:

  • Cheap and with decent build quality, can be had for less than $80 today.

Cons:

  • The finish that is stated doesn’t exactly turn out how it should be. Oil rubbed bronze on the Berkshire is more towards a gray shade instead.

Before you buy:

All said and done, we absolutely recommend the Royce Lighting Prescott 5-Light Chandelier as our top choice for a dining room without breaking the bank. The build quality is good and with a style of incandescent bulbs in mind, it is a great dining room chandelier for those warm family dinners that everyone cherishes.

While you won’t exactly go wrong with the Seagull Lighting Canterbury, $160 might be a little bit out of reach for some on the absolute budget. However there aren’t too many nickel-brushed dining room chandeliers that look as clean and simple as the Canterbury out there today, so if you have that extra bit of dough do go for it.
